Purpose of the Role


As a Data Science Graduate on the Peak Data Science Graduate Scheme, you will support across the various Data Science specialties within Peak, developing a solid base in Insight and Analytics, Research & Development, and Operational/Applied Data Science.

The Role


You’ll work within the Data Science team, spending dedicated time focussing on Insight and Analytics, Research and Development, and Customer Operations. Interfacing with diverse people and situations, and working with some of the biggest brands in the world - this opportunity will develop a solid foundation for starting a Data Science career. Furthermore, there will be opportunities for high performing graduates to remain at the company after the scheme ends. 


Starting in September 2022, the graduate scheme will involve four 3 month placements in three of our teams within Data Science at Peak. You will spend:

  • Two 3 month blocks working with Operational Data Scientists on customer projects
  • One 3 month block working with Insight Data Scientists on insight reports
  • One 3 month block working with our Research and Development Data Scientists helping to make repeatable code for our Operational Data Scientists.


Alongside on-the-job experience, you will have the opportunity to take part in structured training sessions and work together on a group project.


We’re looking for high achieving graduates of numerical degrees. These could be computational Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or other fields like Computer Science and Psychology. You must be enthusiastic about data, curious about new ways to explore, model, and visualize data, and have the ability to communicate your understanding and findings clearly.

Required Experience 


We are looking for: 


  • Sound understanding of a wide range of statistical techniques.
  • Familiarity with one or some of - statistical modelling, machine learning, data mining, unstructured data analytics, natural language processing.
  • Proficiency in statistical and other tools/languages, specifically R and /or Python. 
  • Excellent communication skills, with confidence in presenting complex information to a non-technical audience
  • Experience in deriving insight from a wide variety of data sources to identify areas for optimisation and improvement
  • Skill in producing high quality reports and presentations
  • Familiarity with relational databases and basic level knowledge of SQL is preferred but not essential


This position is open to recent graduates of a numerical Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree.
