Purpose of the role

As Senior DevOps Engineer you will be working with developers and data scientists enabling them to be autonomous and self-sufficient, empowering them to do great things with data by building great infrastructure and automation into the world's first end to end AI platform. 

You will be utilising a passion for building great automation and infrastructure with Linux, Docker, AWS and more to build the best AI platform in the world.

The Role

  • Automate and streamline operations and procedures
  • Cloud Security
  • Understanding and demonstrating good architecture principles - availability, scalability, repeatability, stability etc.
  • DevOps concepts -  CI/CD, high trust, e2e responsibility, continuous improvement, automation etc.
  • Deploying and monitoring different systems
  • Scripting and automation
  • Mentoring, sharing feedback, best practices, and knowledge, encouraging best practices
  • Supporting the end users, taking on issues and feedback and keeping a tight feedback loop, continuously improving the platform and tools

Skills & Experience

You may see some skills and experience mentioned that you aren’t familiar with yet and that’s ok - If you’re driven, curious and ready to learn new things we’re open to seeing what you’ve got to offer!

We’d love to see someone who can demonstrate:

  • Infrastructure As Code (CloudFormation, Terraform, ARM etc.)
  • Expert Cloud knowledge (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud etc.)
  • Programming/Scripting (Bash & Python essential, other languages beneficial)
  • Containers & Orchestration (Docker, ECS, Kubernetes etc.)
  • Configuring and managing Kubernetes/EKS is beneficial
  • CI/CD (Code pipeline, Code build, Jenkins, TravisCI/CircleCI etc.)
  • Database hosting, configuration, usage (RDS, Redshift, SQL etc.)
  • System Administration
  • Technical Certification is beneficial - AWS, Linux, GCP etc.
  • Mentoring and/or team leading is beneficial
  • Linux experience and understanding is essential
  • Working within Scrum, Kanban or Lean methodologies
  • Cross team collaboration and communication

The Team

You’ll be working with a smart and driven team of engineers, with a diverse background of DevOps, data engineering, full stack development, system administration and product support. You’ll also work closely with other teams such as Data Science and Customer Success making sure that customer operations run smoothly.

The Peak Platform

Leveraging serverless and container architecture, the Peak platform is built for handling data at scale. AIS enables businesses to productionize AI, end-to-end, in a single platform. Insights and intelligence can be accessed via an array of outputs including in-built and custom apps, integrated via APIs and more.

As an AWS Machine Learning and Retail competency partner, that is where we host our infrastructure. Be ready to dive into the inner workings of the platform to debug and resolve issues, we want our engineers to be as autonomous and self-sufficient as they can be, continuously learning and getting practical experience of our favourite technologies.
